A Secret south of Silence

Education

We care about transmitting sustainable practices to our guests. Arriving in Puyuhuapi we invite our guests to the spa area to take part in our Three-Waters ceremony, during which we share some basic information with them about eco-friendly behaviour. Guests can find more detailed information during their stay on numerous notices spread around the Lodge. Each guided excursion starts with ecological information about the activity.

In 2008 we established a Kids' Club on a small island close to the lodge. Many outdoor activities that were once very common in former times are perceived as quite exotic by today's children. Nevertheless they have a lot of fun dressed up as Chonos, who are the region's original inhabitants, playing in our tree-house, performing a paper chase to discover an ancient native treasure or roasting marshmallows on a campfire. We have prepared an educational nature trail to help children learn about the region's people, plants and animals, and have developed a descriptive and entertaining way of explaining the recovered substance cycle. We also help them understand how important it is to respect nature in everyday life.

Puyuhuapi is a high quality ecological retreat in Patagonia. Our guests will leave their more accustomed environments behind and on arrival in Puyuhuapi will connect to a natural way of life by exploring pristine landscapes, unwinding in natural hot springs and tasting freshly prepared food. Such experiences help raise our guests' awareness of the importance of living life in a harmonic symbiosis with nature, while at the same time activating their senses to appreciate the pureness of life itself.
