Energetic efficiency

Situated in this wonderful area we began our operation in 1990, using local resources for our construction needs. The finest timber collected from fallen trees provided us with the best possible basic material, without our cutting down a single tree. Fresh mountain water helped generate electricity via two hydroelectric turbines. Since our electricity depends mainly on water pressure, low consumption is inevitable. In general electricity consumption in Puyuhuapi is quite low, as we use relatively little electronic equipment and where possible now use energy-saving systems. Nevertheless there is the need of diesel generators to back up our energy supply, which are hidden in the backyard.
