Puyuhuapi Lodge & SPA is located at parallel 44°24’814 Latitud South and 72°38’717 Longitud SW, in a sheltered bay of the Puyuhuapi Fjord, in the Region of Aysén, Chilean Patagonia. There is no direct road access to the lodge, you must reach it by boat. There are 4 crossings per day over the fjord, starting 15 kms south of the Village of Puerto Puyuhuapi. Another option if you are not travelling by car, is to board the 56 guests high speed catamaran that starts from Puerto Chacabuco, between October and April.
ACCESS via Balmaceda (Programs) and Chacabuco
Daily flights from Santiago (3 hrs) and Puerto Montt (1 hr). Connections from Punta Arenas (1 hour) are available in summer season, a couple of times in the week. From Balmaceda airport you take a ground transfer to Coyhaique, the main city of the region. The trip continues to Puerto Chacabuco (01:15hrs) to board the Patagonia Express Catamaran and enjoy a pleasant 5 hour navigation through the Chilean fjords to the lodge.
ACCESS via Austral Road
From Coyhaique you take direction north to Puyuhuapi, on a 4 hour drive, through spectacular landscapes. 1/3rd of the Carretera Austral is still gravel road.
From Futaleufu or from Chaiten, you drive also aprox 4 hours, this time direction south, this part of the road is all gravel.
You must reach the Puyuhuapi Lodge Pier at the Carretera Austral, located aprox, 15 km south of Puyuhuapi Village, and take a scheduled boat transfer of 10 min over the fjord.
ACCES via Charter Flights or Private Plane
The quickest way to reach the Lodge is via flights starting from Puerto Montt to the aerodrome of Puyuhuapi (Flight time 01:20 hour). From the Aerodrome it is 10 minutes to the pier and then 10 minutes by boat crossing over the fjord.
